I am more than my Sun sign?

These days when someone asks what you sign is, chances are you know what you identify with.  Or maybe you don't identify with it.

The problem is most of us think that's all there is to it.  When in fact looking at your daily horoscope might be interpreted no differently than reading a fortune cookie.  It's too vague and your right. 

The problem is (like me) most of us never thought about making an investment to see an Astrologer.  We perceive them as the mathematical person of a mystic in a house that has a neon sign promoting her ability to fortune tell.  As astrologers we have to constantly try to validate this skill (it is definitely a difficult one) to master.  Because there are far more intricacies involved than where the Sun was on the day or night you were born.

In our new day and age, psychologists that lean toward the teachings of the great Carl Jung are more open to Astrology due to it's vast resources in studying archetypes involved in all of humanity.  Through Gauquelin statistical analysis there was a consistent theme of where celestial bodies like planets were found on a chart.  Those on the ascendant and Midheaven of the chart played a large part in determining innate ability in over 1000 labelled gifted historical people.   This doesn't mean they are better than you.  They may have made the right decisions and put enough practice and determination in their life to become masters in their natural interests. 

Mark my words, Talent is not born, it's made! Studying the effects of practice and what it does to myelin in your neural circuitry is fascinating subject all by itself. 

Getting back to the chart, consciousness is only now becoming more part of our vocabulary and it's finding it's way into Astrology thanks to Professional Astrologers like Keven Burk.  Who I study under.  When most astrologers look at your birth chart, they see it in two dimensions.  They understand that each planet provides an energy signature on it's own.  They bring that into a one of twelve different areas (houses) of your life and convey that energy in twelve different ways.  Those twelve different ways have characteristics.  Some energies are harness better in certain signs better than others or express at various levels.  There are also aspects of geometric connection as they go around the chart to which is a topic all by itself.

The point to all this is that when we incarnate we bring with us the signature energy of all the planets in our system.  We are a blended mixture in our own unique way and as we go through life we are unaware when these signature express themselves and why the do so that way.  The more we meditate on what we do well, where we have challenges and how we pass our tests is by learning the energies we have to work with and making the best of them each day.
